Important: Shredder is for adults 18 years and older only. No minors may use the Services.
A. Scope & Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Shredder Inc. (“Shredder,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when adults 18+ use our websites, apps, and related services (the “Services”).
B. Personal Information We Collect (including Age/ID Verification)
Account & Profile: name/handle, email, password, photo, bio, resort preferences.
Age & Identity Verification (18+): date of birth; government‑issued ID images/metadata; facial similarity/liveness data; verification results and timestamps; fraud signals.
Usage & Device: app/web activity, log files, device IDs, OS/browser, crash diagnostics.
Location & Sensors: GPS location, altimeter, accelerometer, gyroscope (for ride tracking and maps). You may control location permissions in your device settings.
Communications & Content: posts, comments, messages, groups, event listings; reports you submit; support correspondence.
Transactions (if applicable): subscription tier, purchase history, payment tokens (processed by our payment provider; Shredder does not store full card numbers).
Cookies & Similar Tech: identifiers, analytics, advertising tags (see Cookies section).
C. Sources of Information
Directly from you; automatically from your device; from third‑party verification services, analytics, maps/weather providers, or single‑sign‑on services; and from other users (e.g., tags, invites, reports).
D. How We Use Personal Information
Operate, secure, and improve the Services; personalize features and content.
Verify age/identity (18+ enforcement), prevent fraud/abuse, and protect community safety.
Enable social features (profiles, groups, messaging), events/carpools, and ride tracking.
Provide customer support; communicate about updates, security alerts, and policy changes.
Provide paid features/subscriptions and process transactions (if offered).
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
E. Sharing & Disclosures
We may share personal information with: (a) service providers (hosting, analytics, verification, payments, moderation, support); (b) other users via public profiles, posts, groups, and event pages you publish; (c) law enforcement or authorities where required by law or to protect safety; (d) a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer; and (e) with your consent or direction.
F. Location Data & Safety Features
We use location and sensor data to provide maps, ride tracking, and group coordination. You can disable location in OS settings, though some features may not function. We may aggregate and de‑identify location analytics to improve features, not to track individuals.
G. Children (Under 18)
No minors. The Services are not for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it and terminate the account. Contact privacy@tryshredder.com to request removal. To enforce the 18+ rule, we may process age/ID verification data as described above and retain it only as long as necessary to verify eligibility, prevent fraud, and comply with law.
H. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We apply criteria such as account status, feature usage, legal holds, and safety/fraud considerations. Verification artifacts are retained only for limited periods unless law requires longer.
I. Your Rights (U.S. state privacy laws; GDPR/UK GDPR)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, opt out of targeted advertising or certain data sales/sharing, restrict/object (EU/UK), and data portability. You may also appeal denials. Exercise rights via in‑app controls or privacy@tryshredder.com. We may request verification information and will not discriminate for exercising rights.
J. Targeted Advertising; “Sale”/“Sharing” (CPRA/CO/CT/VA/UCPA)
We may use advertising or analytics technologies that could be deemed a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or targeted advertising under certain laws. You can opt out via Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information links where available, in‑app settings, and by enabling browser‑level signals (e.g., Global Privacy Control) where honored.
K. International Transfers
Data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
L. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is 100% secure; use strong, unique passwords and protect your devices.
M. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies/SDKs for authentication, analytics, and (if applicable) advertising. You may control cookies via browser settings and mobile OS ad settings. Some features may not function without certain cookies or SDK permissions.
N. SMS, Email, and Push Notifications
With your consent where required, we send transactional and promotional communications. You may manage preferences in‑app or via unsubscribe links/OS settings. Standard carrier rates apply to SMS.
O. Community Content & Public Profiles
Content you post (including profile fields you choose to make public) may be visible to others. Use caution when sharing location and personal information. We may remove content that violates our guidelines.

R. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified via the app or email and become effective on posting unless otherwise stated.
S. Apple Platform Disclosures & App Privacy Summary
To align with Apple’s App Privacy details, Shredder summarizes data categories that may be collected and their purposes. The exact disclosures in App Store Connect ("nutrition label") will mirror these categories and indicate linkage to you and whether data is used for tracking.
Collected Categories (depending on features used):
- Contact Info (email, handle) – account, support.
- Identifiers (device/app identifiers) – security, fraud prevention, analytics.
- User Content (posts, messages, photos) – social features, moderation.
- Location (precise/approximate) – ride tracking, maps, meetups; you can disable in OS settings.
- Usage Data (app interactions, diagnostics) – app functionality, analytics.
- Diagnostics/Crash Data – improve stability and performance.
- Purchases (if applicable) – subscriptions, receipts (processed by Apple/processor).
- Age/ID Verification Artifacts (if verification enabled) – eligibility (18+), fraud prevention.
Tracking & ATT: If we use technologies that qualify as tracking (e.g., linking data collected from your app/device with third‑party data across apps/sites for advertising or measurement), we will present the App Tracking Transparency prompt and collect consent before tracking. If you decline, we will not track you for those purposes.
Account Deletion In‑App: You can delete your account from within the app (Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account). We will delete or de‑identify personal information unless retention is required for legal, security, or fraud prevention reasons.
